We are certified and approved to offer a comprehensive variety of programs. These programs enable us to provide individually designed interventions for our clients. Our staff is well trained in these methods, in order to match remedial techniques with each person's learning needs. Here are some of the programs we currently provide.
Diagnostic Assessment: In order to determine where a person is performing academically, we evaluate processing and academic levels, then plan the appropriate intervention. Additional diagnostic assessment may be recommended. Previous testing will be considered as well.
Academic Intervention: We use well-researched programs to help students improve skills in all areas. Our options include multisensory programs such as Lindamood Bell™, Wilson Reading™, Landmark Written Language™, Discover Math™, and others. We identify the best program for your child through our assessments and inventories.
Fast ForWord Products are now available in TWO ways:
1. TYPICALLY parents purchase a single product license for each FF program needed for their child. For example, if the student enrolls in and completes FF Language, and then wants to enroll in FF Language to Reading, this would require purchasing 2 licenses from the company, Scientific Learning, through the provider. The program can be administered at home with parents monitoring, or at the approved provider site. This is the traditional method of delivering this intervention.
2. NOW certified providers may obtain a site license and multiple workstations, with the flexibility to move students through different products as they need them. This feature is only available when students work at a provider site. For example, if a student is working on FF Literacy at Banyan Tree, and finishes several games that were less challenging, but is still working on more difficult exercises, we have the flexibility to move the student to Literacy Advanced so the student will still be challenged.
Introductory Offer: Fast ForWord Flexibility Program
Parents who enroll students in Fast ForWord for Summer 2008 will be offered an incredible opportunity! For the price of 1 Language or Literacy product license, students will have one year to complete 3 Fast ForWord programs. For example, if a student enrolls in Language, he will also be able to complete Language to Reading and Reading Level 1 before Summer 2009. This can be done one right after the other, or spaced throughout the year so students have a break and allow time for the brain to process and reorganize after completing a set of exercises. After this summer, there will be an additional fee for any reading products following the language products.
New Fast ForWord Fluency Program
Reading Assistant is now available to build fluency in oral reading. Students are able to read passages aloud on the computer, which records their reading, tracks errors, teaches missed words, and makes data available for each reading, showing decreased errors and increased words read per minute. There is an additional fee for this program. It is not part of the introductory program mentioned above for Summer 2008.
Brain Fitness for Adults
Many adults are feeling the need to sharpen brain skills these days, and the Brain Fitness program can make a difference. Developed by Posit Science, it works very much like Fast ForWord, but is geared toward improving visual and auditory memory, processing speed, and mental alertness in adults of ALL ages. Results are impressive in baby-boomers as well as the geriatric populaton. Please contact us for more information. This can be done as a home program or part of our new Adult Brain/Body Fitness Program.

Auditory Enhancement and Training: The auditory system is like the "captain" of the sensory system. When it is weak, it can affect the integration of information and the learning process. Even when hearing is normal, listening can be impaired. By improving listening, we see improved attention, memory, concentration, language, learning, and communication. We offer two types of listening programs, either SAMONAS or The Listening Program™, selected on the basis of individual goals. For more details on The Listening Program, click here!
Summit SAT Prep: Students who want to score to their potential can benefit from this 10-session course. A personal coach uses curriculum that is tailored to a student's learning style and focuses on each student's needs. A diagnostic test determines where to begin, and instruction covers math, reading, vocabulary, strategies, and dealing with anxiety.
Occupational Therapy/Sensory Integration: Some students may exhibit trouble with gross or fine motor skills, sensitivity to touch or sound, have difficulty integrating information, and crave movement or spinning. These could be signs of sensory integration problems. An OT evaluation, consultation, and treatment are available, individually or in small groups. Our individual academic instruction also considers the sensory needs of the child, and sessions include sensory breaks when needed.
Homework Club: Some students need a quiet place to work with a minimum of assistance. Students are invited to come to Banyan Tree after school for up to two hours a day, enjoy a snack, and get help when needed. They have a chance to work with friends, and benefit from coaching in organization skills and planning for long term assignments. There is a minimal charge for these group sessions. Call to reserve a spot! For more details on Homework Club, click here!
Interactive Metronome: The Interactive Metronome© (IM) combines the concept of a musical metronome with a patented technology program that accurately measures, assesses and improves a person's rhythm and timing. It is the only program that uses a patented auditory guidance system plus interactive exercises to improve the foundational skills essential for learning and development. For more details on IM, click here!
PACE (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement): If learning problems cannot quickly be resolved with a little extra tutoring then usually there are deficiencies in the underlying learning skills required to make learning easy, efficient, and fast. PACE helps learners and their parents understand where the problems are, and provides a method for remediating the issues. This program usually requires 36 hours of instruction in the Center, and 36 hours of work at home with a parent. For more details on PACE, click here!
Educational Therapy: Educational therapy provides 1-to-1 tutoring to fill in any gaps in basic skills and help students understand their learning differences. As we seek to help individuals work through and cope with their unique learning profiles, it is also important to recognize and encourage areas of strength and talent. Consultation with families, schools, and other professionals is available to address the needs of the whole child.
