Banyan Tree Foundations Academy provides the "foundation" a struggling student needs to become successful in school and comfortable in social situations. The Academy is a full day, special education school program which offers the same interventions and methods as our Learning Center, but more intensively. Students who may benefit from enrollment at Foundations Academy have significant challenges including dyslexia, attention, communication, sensory processing, social problems, or previous school failure.

Instruction is 1 to 1 for up to three hours daily using our individual, intense and integrated model. Small groups for 2 hours a day offer an opportunity for socialization, interaction, and project based learning. Some high school classes or credits may be obtained online. All curriculum follows California State Standards and is aligned with student’s IEP goals.

Foundations Academy is intended as a short term placement and intervention. Students generally attend for one to two years to build the foundational, academic, and social skills needed to help them to return to their neighborhood school or their school of choice. Foundations Academy is certified as a private, nonpublic school. Tuition assistance may be available.
